I have been traveling quite a bit this year, and not too far, far, away lands but around Western Washington! Why? Well because it was originally a way to gain exposure for our new budding retail boutique, but it has turned out to be a way of life for us. When you don’t operate out of a storefront, that personal touch can quickly be lost, so we did a couple of very small shows around holiday time last year and I quickly caught the “BUG”. I loved meeting all of those gorgeous baby faces, who smiled at you and the moms, dad, grandparents who “ooh and aah” at the garments hanging on the rack or who smile, because they have never seem a pacifier holder like the infamous Finn+Emma Monkey. It was the feeling that you get when you know you’ve made that potential customer feel like a friend, you share a story and you just might help them pick out the “best darn outfit” for their new granddaughter!
The weeks of planning your mobile “storefront” for a 6-hour stay and how you display your favorite pieces in a way that makes your customers feel warm and welcome to browse. It’s all of that, and I love that while I can meet the most amazing customers in Western Washington, I have made new connections from New Jersey to San Diego to Canada. It’s been a blessing to get to do something that you love and have it so wildly embraced.
